- St. Patrick's Church Columbus, Ohio Monday, July 4, 2016 Patriotic Rosary following the 10:00 mass. The Patriotic Rosary dedicates one Hail Mary in the traditional Catholic rosary to each state of the United States and asks God’s protection of and guidance for our country. The Patriotic Rosary includes intentions for the three branches of our government and our elected officials before each of the decades. This year, our Dominican friars from St Patrick's have revised this rosary to give it a "Dominican flair". A quotation from a historic American leader, such as George Washington, or a saint of the Catholic Church, such as St. John Paul II, is read before recitation of each mystery. A patriotic song ends each decade of the rosary.
